Deferred Gifts or Planned Gifts

The many vehicles of deferred giving include bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable trusts, and insurance programs. Making a gift through your estate plan to benefit Schoolcraft College is a way of planning for the College’s future along with your own. These gifts are critical in ensuring that student needs will be met now and in the future. If you would like more information on planned giving options, visit our section on planned giving or contact the Schoolcraft College Foundation at (734) 462-4455 or via email at development@schoolcraft.edu.

Appreciated Property

Gifts of stocks, bonds, mutual funds or real estate may provide greater tax benefits than a cash gift. You receive a charitable deduction for the full market value and then by giving to the SCF you avoid capital gains tax.

We are happy to work with you and your tax advisor to determine the best way for both parties to achieve maximum value and impact from the donation.  For more information contact the Schoolcraft College Foundation at (734) 462-4455 or via email at development@schoolcraft.edu.

Gifts in Kind

You can donate gifts of books, jewelry, artwork, collections, equipment, software or other valuable tangible personal property upon approval by the Board of Governors with special attention given to the related use of such property to the mission of the Foundation and the College. Gifts may be used or sold for the benefit of the Foundation. For more information contact the Schoolcraft College Foundation at (734) 462-4455 or via email at development@schoolcraft.edu.

Memorials and Tributes

Many people choose to make gifts to the Foundation in memory of a loved one, or to honor a person on their graduation from college, a birthday, anniversary or other occasion. You can specify for whom or what you are making your gift and we will send a letter to the honoree or family member. If you or a loved one has named the Schoolcraft College Foundation as a place to receive memorial gifts at the time of a person’s passing, please contact the Schoolcraft College Foundation at (734) 462-4455 or via email at development@schoolcraft.edu.

Matching Gifts

With matching gifts you can sometimes double or even triple your gift!

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please contact your Human Resources Department.
