Dr. Glenn Cerny Begins Tenure as Next President of Schoolcraft College

On August 1st, Dr. Glenn Cerny officially took over as President of Schoolcraft College. He succeeds Dr. Conway A. Jeffress, who had served as President since July 2001. Dr. Cerny was unanimously voted into the position by Schoolcraft College’s Board of Trustees on July 1, 2020.

A familiar face around campus, Dr. Cerny previously served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Schoolcraft College.

During this time, Dr. Cerny and his team were responsible for Schoolcraft College’s $90 million budget. He has spent nearly his entire career in higher education. Read more…

Family Honors Plymouth Township Fire Chief with Memorial Scholarship

Larry F. Groth, Sr. loved his career as a fire fighter for the entire 40 years he served. He began with the City of Plymouth Department, then joined the Plymouth Township Fire Department, where he served as fire chief for more than 20 years until his retirement in 2003. His beloved wife Sandy and their family all agree that Larry lived and breathed his profession.

Larry passed away on June 27, 2020 and in tribute, his dedication to duty was recognized by providing the 1936 Fire Wagon which is reserved exclusively for line of duty deaths and fire department dignitaries, to convey him to his resting place at Mount Hope Memorial Gardens. Read More…
